As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Reunion

Last weekend the girls and I enjoyed a family reunion in Maryland.  It was wonderful to have our family together.  The main for reason for the reunion was to give my grandparents a photo of their family. It was something my grandmother had wanted for some time. It was a great reason to get together plus we also celebrated my sister Gillian's high school graduation. It was a long day with 5.5 hours of it driving but it was worth it to see everyone!  The girls met my cousins and their children.  I enjoyed seeing our children play together.

Drop off Party

Isabella went to her 1st drop off birthday party last week.  I am not sure who was more excited but it quite possibly was me! Isabella was excited to see her friends & eat cake; Sophia was excited for my undivided attention; and me that is was a drop off birthday party!
Isabella is ready for the party!  (the gifts are in her bag)
This is my new favorite photo of the girls.  Look at those great smiles!

So sweet.  Notice Isabella is hugging Sophia and holding her hand.  They adore each other.

Berry Farm

Our annual trip to the Berry Farm was this past week.  After a rainy week we all anticipated a mud pit but instead it turned out to be a perfect day at the farm.  We enjoyed the hayride to the strawberry fields, lots of delicious ripe strawberries and a picnic lunch.  There was a shelled corn play area that was a hit for Isabella and her friends. Isabella even tried to submerge herself under it! It was a fun filled morning full of strawberry stained faces.  Evidence of a good time was that both kids passed out on the ride home!

No surprise that Isabella loved the corn pit!

The Girls

"Sisters are different flowers
from the same garden"

Isabella and Sophia love to play together, however, they do fight over the same toys. I will hear Sophia say "No No No" or "Mine!" as she tries to yank the toy from Isabella. Today I caught Sophia pushing Bella's back and saying "Go". Since my last post Sophia's vocabulary has taken off. FiFi's newest words are :go, up, down, wawa (water), bubble, jui (juice), moon, balloon, shoes, cookie and of course "no". Its nice for Sophia to be able to communicate with us and its cute to watch her figure things out.  She is such a sweetheart!

Isabella has a big imagination these days.  She LOVES playing dress up and does it everyday.  Her favorite toy is still her dollhouse and she has pretty much given up nap time.  We do have quite time in the afternoon and that's the closest we get to a nap.   I am also pleased to report that Miss Isabella is potty trained (except for overnight).  Will and I very proud of our big girl!!

Isabella not only loves to play dress up, but she likes to dress and undress her barbies as well. Check out the photo below for "Horsies" new outfit. Even the horse plays dress up!

March for Babies

This past weekend we participated in the March of Dimes 5mile walk.  I feel very blessed to have my 2 healthy daughters and friends who supported me on the walk.
The children's festival was fun for the kids.  Isabella enjoyed arts & crafts, face painting, dancing and a few inflatable slides.  Despite the humid misty morning we had a great day!

The morning ended with Isabella & Madelyn enjoying the dance party!  Check out their awesome moves.

As most of you know I am a make up artist and love to do weddings.  This past weekend I did makeup for a wedding party.  When I came home I found the girls had their make up on too....actually it was sidewalk chalk but still funny none the less.

It was a BUSY weekend and went by way to fast!

Sweet as Strawberries

Mothers Day weekend busy and fun!  I participated in my 1st craft show at the Strawberry Street Festival.  The weather was perfect and I enjoyed selling the fruits of my labor.  It was a successful craft show and I am looking forward to doing another.

Since the weather was perfect this past weekend we spent lots of time outdoors.  For the 1st time in 3 years we were able to enjoy a family bike ride (thanks to a bike trailer from a friend).  The girls had a blast in the bike trailer and said "Whee".  They loved going fast!

On Mothers Day my one wish was to attend church as a family which we did.  The girls enjoyed seeing their friends Madelyn & Ellie. After church we spent a nice low key day at home just enjoying each others company.  The day was complete with a little Mommy & Daughter(s) photo session.  As if the day could not get any sweeter, our 1st strawberry of the season was ripe for picking.  It was delicious!  I hope that is a sign of more goodness to come from our garden this summer.
