As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Mom time

Happy Mothers Day!

We spent a low key mothers day in Richmond.  We kicked off the weekend fun at a Flying Squirrels baseball game with our girl scout troop.  Sophia enjoyed walking in the scout parade with Isabella.  On mothers day the girls went with me to church and snuggled close which is always a treat.  After church, we attended open house at our pool and the girls were so EXCITED to be swimming outdoors in May.  Gotta love the weather in the south!
Mothers day was lovely.  It was full of love, laughter, kisses, hugs, sunshine and sweet words.  I could not have planned a more perfect day.  I felt special.

Here are photos of mothers day festivities....

Busch Gardens 2014

2 weeks ago we made a one day trip to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.  Isabella and Sophia were so excited to be at their park with their grandparents.  We had great weather and a fun filled day!  The girls enjoyed playing in the water and going on lots of rides.  Isabella's favorite is still the log flume and Sophia said her favorite ride was the Red Barron Plane ride.  This year Isabella is taller and was able to try a few new rides.  One was the Verbolten roller coaster!  We waited in line for 45 minutes and she grew excited as we waited.  She was a rock star on the coaster holding her hands up when she could.  Her favorite part was the big hill over the water at the end.  I was thrilled to share Isabella's first big coaster ride with her. We are all thrilled to spend the day with Grandmom and PopPop.
The girls asked for a photo with the pretty flowers

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Ah Spring is in the air.  Birds are chirping, the sun is shining and our yard is in bloom.  I love seeing everything rejuvenate after a long cold winter.  Rain or sun the girls love to be outside checking out the flowers in bloom.

Family Hike and Easter Fun

The girls missed their daddy on our spring break trip to Maryland.  They were looking forward to a family hike with dad at the end of Spring Break.  We all enjoyed a tranquil hike to blockhouse point.  The birds eye view was great!  Isabella and Sophia enjoyed special time with Daddy during the hike.  I enjoyed that we were all together in the great outdoors!

The following day was Easter.  After Easter mass with the Schaefers, the girls did not seem excited by Easter bunny in the parking lot!  However, the girls were excited to munch on Poppy's blueberry pancakes.  Easter weather was lovely and the girls had fun outdoors hunting for eggs.  Their favorite thing of all was the pretty red shoes from Grandmere.

Horses, Dinosaurs and Bunnies Oh My!

Spring Break in  Maryland was an adventure for the girls.  Not only did we see family but we also were able to see horses, dinosaurs and bunnies!  Sounds like a fun spring break, huh.  First on the adventure was visiting my sister and her horse Cody.  The girls were excited to spend a girls day with Aunt Gillian.

Sophia opted not to sit on Cody but admire from afar.  My sister and I also enjoyed time at the nursing home visiting Gram, Pap and our Mom.  The girls found a cozy spot to relax at the nursing home.  My favorite part of the visit was watching the girls hold Grams hand.
A train ride started our next adventure to see Dinosaurs in DC.  The exhibit is closing for the next 5 years and I wanted squeeze in one last trip while they are little.  We enjoyed seeing the sights with Samantha, Aunt Melissa and PopPop.  The perfect place to take a birds eye view was from the top of the Old Post Office Pavilion. The girls thought the big bells were neat!

Spring break week was complete with an Easter Egg hunt at Grandmom and PopPops church.  The best part of all was being able to hold the adorable baby bunnies that were only 2 weeks old!!!!

On our adventure we also caught up with Grammie, PapPap and Kelty.  The cousins played, enjoyed a lunch date and ice cream!  They were happy to spend time together.

Hope your Spring Break was an adventure!
