As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Frostbite

Congratulations Kirsten Schaefer on finishing the Frostbite 15K on January 23, 2011. For your records, the weather at start time was mostly cloudy, 26 degrees F, WNW wind 4.6 mph.  Your time was 1:40:20.30 giving you an overall pace of 10:46 per mile.
Sounds like a fun Sunday morning, huh?

I bid my sweet & happy children goodbye to brave the FREEZING cold with a few friends. Notice how excited my daughters look.  As I was walking out the door Isabella ran up to me not to give me a hug but to tighten my shoelaces. So sweet.

BEFORE
The Frostbite 15K lived up to its name as my toes were numb till about mile 3.  After that it was smooth sailing.  Despite the cold, it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

AFTER

While I was gone, Daddy spoiled his daughters.  Look how warm and toasty they were.  Sophia particularly loved rolling around in the fur blanket.  He even served their favorite lunch - spaghetti.  The girls enjoyed having fun with daddy.

Thank you to my dear husband who supports me running!

Ham

Would you like some HAM with your cheese?  This week my girls have been hamming it up for the camera!  Gosh, they make me giggle.  Even Isabella's fashion choices keep me entertained...notice the safety glasses she is rockin'.  Silly girls.

Grandmere's Birthday

Over the Potomac River and through the woods to Grandmothers house we go....  Sunday we made a quick trip to Maryland to celebrate Grandmere's birthday.    The girls enjoyed making cards and Isabella even helped make the lemon cake. Here are a few pics from our trip.  Enjoy!

Static Sisters

We have been busy or at least Isabella was busy with a blue marker!
Our sweet Sophia is 14 months old and is on the move!  She loves to stand (holding on) or climb the stairs.  She has strung her 1st two words together which were "Bye Dada".  She also says "Mama" (which I love to hear), calls our cat Poca "Ka" and says "Uh-oh".   Sophia uses a spoon or fork to feed herself and is becoming more independent.  She enjoys coloring as much as she enjoys trying to eat the crayons.

Sophia & Poca hit the stairs for some exercise

Our big girl showing how its done
Of course the girls love to play together and want to do the same things.  Isabella discovered her hair stands up after being under the blanket.  We thought Sophia should join in on the fun too.

We love our silly girls and they adore each other.

Fun with Friends

Isabella and Sophia love to have friends come over to play.  We have had lots of play dates this week which is fun for both Moms and kids.  Here are a few pics from todays play date.  Isabella wanted to show everyone her room and somehow all the kids ended up in her bed.  ha!

Piano Girls

On our trip to Maryland last week Isabella enjoyed playing the piano with her Aunt Gillian.  It was cute to see her look up at Gillian and sing to her.  Enjoy the video too.

Grinchmas

Last week the girls and I went back up to Maryland and visited the ICE show at the National Harbor.    The show was AMAZING!  It was a frigid 9 degrees and we were all given parkas to put over our jackets to keep warm.  They did not have one in Sophia 's size so she was bundled up in layers and eventually I put her inside of my coat to keep her warm next to me. The indoor, walk- through attraction featured Dr. Seuss "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".  My favorite part was an actual ice slide we were able to ride.  It was super neat!  The exhibit was interactive and at one point I looked over and saw Isabella licking the ice sculpture...uh-oh!  It was not meant to be that interactive but to the mind of a 2 year old it seemed like the thing to do.  I was amazed at the work of the artisans for a temporary exhibit.  It was really neat!

Brr, its 9 degrees Fahrenheit

Yup, that's ICE.  Pretty amazing, huh?
