As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Trip to the Movies

This past weekend was HOT thus we decided a trip to the movies would be a great way to beat the heat. The new Pixar movie "Brave" was just released so we took the girls to see a matinee.  The girls were eager to dress in princess attire for the movie.  After getting dolled up we were ready to go!

Sophia's last trip to the movies was at 7 months old so this was her 1st real experience at the movies.   The title "Brave" was fitting for the movie as Sophia and Isabella clambered up into our laps during the scary times of the movie.  Sophia snuggled with Daddy for the entire movie.  She is a daddy's girl!

Fathers Day at the Zoo & Pool

We celebrated Fathers day the entire weekend!  Saturday was super busy...after a 7.5 mile run and  makeup for a wedding we headed off to the National Zoo in DC to meet up with my family.  Traffic and a old GPS got the best of our time and our trip was not as speedy as we had hoped.  Due to our late arrival we missed a few animals at the zoo but it was still a great time.  The weather was absolutely perfect all weekend.  Sunday I was able to not only visit my grandparents but we also celebrated with Wills family.  It was a busy and fun weekend away.  Happy Fathers Day!

Crafty Girls

Like Mother like daughter.  My girls love arts and craft!  Last week we made tons of things for Will for fathers day.  The shrinky dink hand prints and footprints were really cool!  Since we were in the crafty mood I made a few things for the girls...princess dresses and covered felt boards with accessories.  I  hope my girls continue to love arts and crafts as much as I do.  Speaking of arts & crafts, I will be teaching an art class once a week during the summer for kids called "Art Exploration".  The best part of the job is that I can bring my daughters with me!
Isabella picked out the princess fabric for the dress she is wearing

Two Point Five

Sophia is 2 and 1/2.  As I type these numbers I am amazed that my little baby is not so little anymore.    She loves to snuggle, play with baby dolls and carry a purse.  She has developed her own sense of fashion and will let me know her preference.  She loves to swing and could be pushed for over 20 minutes at a time.  As of last week she can buckle her self in the car seat just like a big girl!  Sophia continues to have a sweet natured personality that warms my heart.
"I'm a big girl!"
"I can do it!"
High Five!
Since she is getting to be such a big girl, we converted Sophia's crib to a toddler bed.  Sophia was so proud of her big girl bed.  She climbed up, took a look around, then invited Big Sis to enjoy her new bed!  Isabella left a little soft bunny on Sophia's pillow to "make her feel safe".  Sophia slept though the night and never once got out of bed.  She loves her nap time especially in her big girl bed.  Sophia always says the favorite part of her day is her nap!

Checking out the converted crib.

2 happy girls!

Sophia Austin, no matter how old you are...you will always be my baby!

Memorial Weekend

Long weekends are always great!  The girls were in heaven having Daddy home a few days in a row.  We spent lots of time outdoors playing in our backyard. Plus, we enjoyed dinner outside every night and roasted marshmallows for dessert. Happy Memorial Day!
