As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Fantastic, Fun and 40!

Fantastic, fun and 40! This last decade from 30-40 has went by fast.  Turning a decade older seems like a rite of passage.  My family and friends filled my heart with joy.  Two of my friends took me out and pampered me with pedicures, mimosas, fruit and lunch out!  It was a treat to have a day with my friends and one I will treasure for years to come.  I kicked off my actual birthday getting up at 5:45am to run 12 miles. Before the run the training team sang Happy Birthday to me. Later, I squeaked in a little nap and had girl friends over that evening.  We enjoyed taking silly photo booth photos, whacking a pinyata and lots of yummy treats.  Will and the girls were such wonderful party hosts.   At the end of my birthday I counted my blessings for a 40th birthday full of friendship, laughter, love, joy, support, generosity and happiness.  I am thankful for family, friends and to celebrate 40!

September Smiles

September was a month full of smiles and new things!  Sophia started in girl scouts as a Daisy and Isabella is now a Brownie Scout.  We enjoyed a visit with my sister Gillian and niece Olivia.  Sophia lost another tooth and Isabella started playing soccer. We celebrated my 40th birthday.  Marathon coaching continues and the girls helped with a SAG (supply and gear water stop) for the runners. The girls are enjoying school and I was able to have a lunch date and a surprise class visit with each. We went to the movies at the Byrd Theater in Richmond.  The Byrd which is 87 years old, is both a state and national landmark. The theater was named after William Byrd, one of the founders of Richmond.  The building is rich in architectural details with marble arches, gold leaf walls and an 18 foot crystal chandelier.  We checked out the minion movie for 1.99 each!  In September the UCI bike road world championships came to Richmond.  It was cool to see so many people on bikes around town and to check out the races in person.  We are all back in the swing of things and enjoying life.
