As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

How I spent my 6th birthday...

Isabella woke up sick on her 6th birthday and unable to keep food down... however she was happy to see lots of snow outside and wanted to go play in it.  So with a trash can in tow (in case she was sick) we went outdoors.  Well,  after playing outside she started to perk up!  Then was able to eat!  By mid day she was feeling much better and could not wait to open her presents.  She did not want cake on her birthday due to an upset tummy but we were thrilled that she felt well enough to enjoy her special day.

Happy Birthday to my sweet, silly, creative, outgoing, adventurous, caring and loving daughter.  You made our family so happy the day you were born.  It has been a joy to watch you grow into a beautiful little girl.  We are proud of you and love you very much! xoxox

Out with germs and in with snow

We have had our fair share of germs this month.  Sophia had the tummy bug with 4 long days of vomiting.  Then exactly one week later Isabella come down with it.  They both felt awful and wanted lots of snuggles.  Thankfully, the girls there were not sick at the same time so I could give them snuggles they wanted.   Isabella finally felt better on her birthday and was able to go out and enjoy the fresh snow.  A morning of fresh air and sledding was a perfect treat after being cooped up in our house. I am happy to report everyone in my house is healthy!

Ice skating Olympics - Schaefer style

Last weekend the girls were so excited to have PopPop and Grandmom visit for the night.  They spoiled us as we made many wonderful memories.  They treated Bella to a birthday dinner of her choice.   She picked Cracker Barrel since she loves their cheesy mac and cheese.
The following day we enjoyed riding scooters, a trip to the park, a nature hike, arcade games, bowling  and ice skating.  We were all spoiled with fun!  I felt like a big kid and loved skating on the ice with Eddie. It reminded me of the fun we had when I was a little girl.  Isabella and Sophia were excited...until they got in the ice rink.  They went around once and then rested a while in the bleachers.  I finally got a second loop out of them before we left.  It was fun but hard work.  We had a great weekend that, as always, went by too fast!

Jumpology

As the snow melted, boredom was setting in for the kids.  Plus,  without school, they had lots of energy to spare.  One hour of bouncing fun at Jumpology with friends was the perfect cure.  The trampolines and foam pit made for a pretty awesome morning.
Sophia gearing up!
Wheeee!!!
Up, up, up...

Winter Wonderland

We have been in a winter wonderland in Richmond, VA.  We have had 2 batches of snow, ice and lots of days off of school!  To kick off the fun Isabella and I attended the Winter Wonderland Ball, which was a Girl Scout dance.  Isabella had a blast dancing with all the girls!  Meanwhile, Sophia and Will enjoyed special daddy daughter time.  They both dressed up for a date to the candy shop.  Later that evening, Will treated all of his girls to a special dinner out.

Thumbs up to a dinner date.
Fluffy white snow, not much of it, but enough to bring joy to my daughters eyes.  Plus, NO SCHOOL!   In 2 weeks Isabella only had 1 day of school.  We enjoyed the slow mornings and spent lots of time outside.    The girls went sledding on big hills for the first time this year and enjoyed it!
