As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Goodbye 1984

Goodbye 1984, Hello 2013!  These past two weeks have been devoted to updating our 1984 style family room.  We painted the wood paneling, molding, trim, mantel, fireplace, walls, ceiling, 3 windows and 5 doors!  It was a huge project that took two weeks to complete but we are very happy with the results.  We are also very happy to have our family room back to enjoy!!!!

Kids fun run

Isabella ran her first official race this past Saturday   It was a one mile kids fun run which was part of the big Monument Avenue 10K. Before the run I mentioned to Isabella that she had one rule for the race and it was to HAVE FUN!   Based on our previous training runs, Isabella averaged a 19 minute pace for one mile.  Well, on race day she ran one mile in 12:45!  Way to go Isabella!!!  My favorite part of the run was holding hands with Isabella while we ran.  At one point she wanted to stop and sit on the curb, but I showed Isabella  that the finish line was in sight and she sprinted to the finish.  That's my girl!

Happy Easter

We spent our Easter in Maryland this year.  The girls enjoyed lots of seasonal festivities such as church, a visit with the Easter bunny, hunting for their Easter baskets and one more egg hunt!  The girls were great in church and Will and I both enjoyed snuggling with our daughters.  The girls looked especially cute in the outfits from Grand-mere and Poppy.   It was a treat to spend time catching up with family.

Easter Bonnet

I love to be involved in my daughters lives thus I tend to be at their school a lot.  I volunteered to help Isabella's class make Easter bonnets.  Each child painted their hats before I came to school.  Once the hats were dry the kids came and selected items to decorate their bonnets.  I worked the hot glue gun to help the little ones create beautiful bonnets. It was a treat to spend time with Isabella creating her special hat.  The kids all wore their hats last week for the Easter Parade and performance. Isabella was selected to stand up and be a pig for a song.  It was a huge surprise to see her get up since she did not tell me that she had a special part!  The girls were excited for Easter and Spring Break and I was excited to see Isabella on stage.  It was a happy day!

A Hunting we will go...

Last week the girls enjoyed Easter Egg hunts at school.  Sophia and I stopped by to visit Isabella during the egg hunt with her classroom.  Then Sophia and her little friends had their own egg hunt outside of the school.   It made for a fun and festive morning!
