As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Otitis Media - Middle Ear infection

Isabella has ANOTHER dreaded ear infection thus she will be getting tubes next Friday. It seems getting tubes is as easy as adding an new accessory to your wardrobe, but to a Mommy (me) it does come with worry. Although the decision to have them "installed" was easily made, I have fears. I don't want her to be poked and prodded with needles. Nor do I want her put to sleep with anesthesia. Despite those fears, my overall concern is for Isabella to get some relief from constant ear infections. I guess it better she is young and will not have a fear of being put to sleep but I just wish I could be by her side during the procedure. I guess Isabella is really a chip off the ol' block since I had tubes when I was little. Like mother, like daughter.

Picture of health

Runny noses, sore throats, coughing...that's the picture of health in the Schaefer household this week. This week Isabella has an ENT appointment to get some relief from her recurring ear infections. Poor darling has had 7 ear infections in a five month span. Despite sickness, Isabella has a few new tricks up her sleeve....she claps her hands (yay) and is standing assisted by toys or furniture. Bell enjoys feeding herself finger foods such as arrowroot cookies, cereal, goldfish and bananas. She says "dada" and "ga" indiscriminately. The squeals of delight are still my favorite and her belly laugh can turn a frown upside down.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we headed off to the Pumpkin Patch for some old fashioned fun!
The pig races are always fun to watch.
Britney Spareribs and Lindsey Loham were not there this year. However, the were plenty of cute new piglets to cheer for. So we cheered on Baconator (Will's pick) and Nibbler (my pick).

Go piggies Go!!

8 months old!

Exactly one year ago I started knitting a dress for Isabella. As Bell grew in my tummy her dress began to take form. Each stitch was made with love and I eagerly awaited meeting my daughter. Today Isabella is 8 months old. I have enjoyed the journey to motherhood and the joy Isabella brings. Here are some pics from her 8 month photo shoot...

Family visit

Another fun filled weekend in the Schaefer household. Friday night we attended a Fall Harvest at Isabella's day care. We enjoyed some private time playing with all the fun toys in her room. Saturday Pam (Grandmere), Fred (Pappy?) & Aunt Meredith came to visit. They enjoyed spending time with Isabella and seeing how much she has grown.

Daddy's Girl

Today we did some landscaping...ah the joys of a first time home owner. Actually it was a beautiful day so it was nice being outside. When Isabella woke from her short nap she missed her Daddy. She crawled to the front door and waited for him. So sweet. She is starting to have separation anxiety with Will and I. But today she was a Daddy's' girl. Isabella at the door gazing at her Daddy

Happy Anniversary

Today is our 6th wedding anniversary. These past 6 years have been wonderful and we look forward to many more to come. Throughout the years we have changed jobs, moved 3 times, started our family and purchased our first home. One thing that has stayed contant through all the change is our love. It continues to grow stronger every day. I am lucky to say that I married my best friend. This is only the beginning of a lifetime of happiness.
