As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Grinchmas

Last week the girls and I went back up to Maryland and visited the ICE show at the National Harbor.    The show was AMAZING!  It was a frigid 9 degrees and we were all given parkas to put over our jackets to keep warm.  They did not have one in Sophia 's size so she was bundled up in layers and eventually I put her inside of my coat to keep her warm next to me. The indoor, walk- through attraction featured Dr. Seuss "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".  My favorite part was an actual ice slide we were able to ride.  It was super neat!  The exhibit was interactive and at one point I looked over and saw Isabella licking the ice sculpture...uh-oh!  It was not meant to be that interactive but to the mind of a 2 year old it seemed like the thing to do.  I was amazed at the work of the artisans for a temporary exhibit.  It was really neat!

Brr, its 9 degrees Fahrenheit

Yup, that's ICE.  Pretty amazing, huh?

Christmas Magic

Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house
Our cat was stirring playing with her mouse
A fire was roaring in the in the chimney to warm the air
Our girls were excited Santa would soon be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
and Isabella left her new Barbie next to her head
Sophia was snuggled down for a long nap
All she needed was a back rub and a little love pat
When out of nowhere arouse such a clatter,
It was our alarm clock for that matter.
Time to get ready in a flash,
Before the for the mad Christmas dash.

Christmas morning arrived quick,
The girls wait on the top stair for St.Nick
The milk and cookies were gone,
without a dance or a song.
The presents were stacked around the tree
Isabella and Sophia play on bended knee
Sophia loves her ladybug pillow pet
She snuggles and thinks is it nap time yet?
The Dr. Kit is a hit!
Sophia loves her hat that I knit!
The handmade blankets were also sweet
On the ride to Maryland it warmed their feet

We spent time with family having fun
Our sweet Sophia enjoys being one!
Dress up clothes are very cute,
Isabella loved her train to boot.
Sophia loved snuggling with her new dolls
and we loved seeing her scoot down the halls.
Our holiday was magical and sweet,
All the presents were such a treat.
We feel blessed in every way
on this special holiday.

Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Cookies for Santa

'Tis the season to bake thus we have made many batches of cookies this month.  While making pizzelle cookies Isabella remarked " Move over eggs, make room for the oil".  Our smart cookie Bella enjoyed sprinkling massive amounts of powdered sugar on the cookies. But of coarse her most favorite part is eating the cookie!

Scootie McCutie

Isabella loves to add "ie" onto everything.  For example she recently called her skirt a "skirtie".  Thus, she called Sophia by the name of Scootie.  As you know, Sophia loves to scoot.  She can crawl but that is not her preferred method of transportation because she is very efficient and fast at scooting around.  Anyway, Isabella called her Scootie and now I have been calling her Scootie McCutie.    Since coming up with this nickname Miss Sophia has grown leaps and bounds!   She is now pulling up on everything, cruising, saying bye-bye and uh-oh, uses a spoon, takes a sippy like a champ, drinks from a straw and has even started climbing up the stairs!  The most amazing news of all....Sophia took her 1st step yesterday!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go baby girl!  We are so proud of you.

Tacky Lights Tour

After an early bath and dinner we surprised our girls with our very own Tacky Lights Tour.  I had planned out a route of 6 houses...we only made it to 3 before both girls were fast asleep.  I am pretty sure Sophia passed out before we even made it to the 1st house.   So our tacky lights tour only consisted of 3 houses but they were really cool and close to home too!
Giddy up girls, its time to hit the road.

Isabella telling Sophia we are going to see lights

So sweet.  I love these moments...

...and these tender moments too!

Winter Wonderland

Let it snow!!  We have had snow every weekend this month which makes for a beautiful and fun holiday season.  Last week we had about 4 inches of snow and Isabella was eager to get outside for some fun.  Unfortunately, I had the flu so I could not take her out nor do much of anything for that matter. Anyway, that evening Will came home from work and surprised the girls with a little sleigh ride.
Notice Sophia's big hands. She would not keep her mittens on so Will taped his gloves on top of them.  Smart Daddy keeping his girls toasty and warm.

Saturday I was ready to join Isabella in our winter wonderland.  We had fun playing the snow and running around.  Isabella enjoys the culinary cuisine of fluffy fresh snow.  She also thought it was pretty cool how her boot left a mark in the snow.

Whee.......
