As much as we are watching our children to see what they do with thier lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

Winter Enrichment

The last day of school before winter break is a fun one!  The day starts with a jingle bell run that is normally outside. I was excited since both of my kids grades (K and 2nd) would run the track at the same time.  However, this year due to rain the "run" was inside the school and it ended up being more of a parade.  My girls were in separate parts of the school on parade so I was upset that I missed seeing Isabella! After that the school has a sing-a-long in the gym and Santa comes.  Sophia wanted to sit with me and snuggle.  Isabella wanted to sit with her friends.  After that I needed to leave to get supplies for the class room parties that were in an hour.  Sophia was very upset to see me leave and cried. Thankfully one of her sweet classmates gave her a hug.  When I returned to the school Sophia was happily playing with friends and enjoyed having me help in her classroom.   Following Sophia's class party was Isabella's winter enrichment.  It was nice to spend time in her class room too. I enjoyed spending my day off with my daughters at school.

Oh Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches....

The day we reserved to cut down our Christmas tree was a rainy one.  We drove to a tree farm and the selection was very limited. The selection of Furs were only 3 feet tall so we ended up with a White Pine.  Those do not have a fragrant smell or lovely branches for holding heavy ornaments.  We made the best choice that we could given the selection.  Just like Charlie Brown,  by the end of the day our tree looked pretty.  Its amazing what a little love and sparkly decorations can do to improve the tree. It was a nice day spent as a family.  The girls enjoyed being pulled on the "sled" and drinking hot coco by the fire.

The girls had a tree of their own in the playroom to decorate too.  It was the perfect size. They took pride in making it look pretty.

Hello Yellow Belt

The girls are enrolled in a Martial Arts School for after care.  They have both learned that winning is a choice and the importance of respect.  Isabella completed testing and earned her yellow belt! Go Isabella!  We are proud of your hard work.

Thankful November

Fall is a time to reflect on being Thankful.  I am thankful for natures beauty in the fall.  Not only do I enjoy watching the leaves change but also enjoy playing in the leaves that fall to the ground.  I am thankful for my husband Mr. Wonderful (aka Will) who cleaned up the leaves in our yard and made a huge pile for us to jump in. Thankfully this year no shoes or items were lost within the pile of leaves. I am thankful for my children who encourage me to play in the leaves like a kid. I am thankful for modern medicine that treated Sophia's strep throat over the holiday.  I am thankful for time with my family. I am thankful for my lot in life.  It fills my heart with love and joy.

Kinder Feast

Sophia's kindergarten class held a Thanksgiving feast. The kids prepared most of the food and decorations. Before sitting down in their seat each child said something they were thankful for.  Sophia said "I am thankful for my parents".  So sweet!  I am thankful I was able to stay at school not only for the feast but also for recess and a surprise lunch date with Isabella.
