Un-Birthday & Pirates

Isabella has been asking when it was going to be her turn to have a birthday party.  Technically Isabella is 3 1/2 now so we celebrated her half birthday and pink cupcakes were a must.  Isabella added all the ingredients and mixed everything together.  She wanted to help ice the cupcakes but that really meant she wanted to just eat all the icing.  So after I iced the pink cupcakes with pink icing Isabella added lots of colored sugar on top!  Yummy!

Isabella has matured a lot in the past 6 months.  She loves to use her imagination.  Her favorite activities are playing dress up, coloring, painting, play-doh and palling around with Sophie.  Her most favorite toy of all is still her dollhouse!  Today Bella exclaimed "I want to be a Mommy or a princess....I will have two babies and their names will be Sophie & Sophie".  Isabella always keeps us entertained and says the cutest things.    She is a joy in our lives.

Sophia has discovered pockets and loves to reach way down inside.  Sometime she reaches so far that her bottoms come off!

Isabella loves to be a big helper.  Isabella likes to help me in the kitchen and also "help" Will in the yard.  She thinks yard tools are really fun!

Finger Paint

I love arts & crafts time.  I also think its neat to how see personalities emerge in artwork.  Isabella's free spirited & energetic personality can be seen in her finger painting.  She enjoys the feeling of the paint under her finger and dives right in!  Her artwork fills the paper and colors are all mixed together.  On the other hand Sophia is a little apprehensive about finger paint.  Its a little messy for Miss Sophia.  I had to wipe her fingers clean every few minutes and encourage her to explore.   Sophia's reserved and calm personality is revealed in her art work.  I love the new masterpieces my buddings artist made.

As you know the germs have been going around our house the past few weeks.  While the kids were sick we still managed to have some fun.  Sometimes fresh air and laughter are the best medicine.

Schaefer Cottage

Will has been spending his spare time crafting a cottage for the girls.    The house is finally done and the girls love it!  We even added flowers to the window boxes.  I know the girls will enjoy their new play area for years to come.

21 months!

Fifi is 21 months!  It is hard to believe that at this age Isabella was already a big sister.  Our sweet Sophia is growing fast but she is still our baby.  Sophia loves her baby dolls, books, Dora (the explorer) and her special blankie. She also loves to wiggle her little buns to music and imitate her big sister.  Sometime Sophia gets so excited that she screams at the top of her lungs with joy (i.e. when daddy comes home!).   Sophia is a precious ball of love!

Twinkle Toes

Since we have been sick I am a little behind on my blog posts. Now its time to play catch up!

Isabella took a few creative movement classes this summer and loved to dress like a ballerina.  She also enjoyed checking herself out in the mirror!

Two weeks ago Mary & Samantha stopped by on their trip home.  Isabella was in HEAVEN with all the dress up hand-me-downs from Samantha.  The visit was short but super fun.  Sam & I even had some fun on the sewing machine.  Isabella really wanted Samantha to spend the night, she even told Sam " I have a spot in my big bed for you".  The girls were ready to pass out on the couch before dinner time!

They left the house at half past nine,

to arrive at vacation bible school on time.

A race for the car

The girls are always eager to go "bye-bye".  They prefer to go out of the house most days.  For the past 2 weeks Isabella was in vacation bible school and had a blast.  Isabella felt like such a big girl going to school and Sophia seemed out of sorts with out her big sister around.  Overall, both girls enjoyed the change in routine.  Isabella greeted Sophia and I with a HUGE hug and smile when we picked her up at VBS.  Sophia squealed with excitement when we went to pick up Isabella.  Absence does make the heart grow fonder.

At the first week of camp Isabella enjoyed bringing cans of food to donate to the food bank.  She also made some really cute crafts.  The second week VBS was at Isabella's soon to be pre-school so she was super excited to be there!  She enjoyed celebration time with lots of singing and dancing.
