Operation Big Girl Bed

Saturday morning we told Isabella that she was going to get a big girl bed.  She was super excited!  Isabella was eager to enjoy her bed (her crib converted to a bed).

Dentist

The girls made their very first trip to the dentist.  Isabella seemed excited and Sophia was curious. The girls had fun in the waiting room and were excited to be called back. 

Our room was Winnie the Pooh themed which was great since Isabella loves Piglet! (her imaginary friend is also piglet).  Isabella was such a big girl in the dentist chair.  She even sat for an x-ray.  We learned an interesting thing...Isabella has 19 out of the 20 teeth she should have.  The x-rays revealed not only the baby tooth missing but there is not an adult one in its place.  Interesting, huh?  Apparently, that is not so uncommon.   Not only was it the girls 1st visit to the dentist but sadly Isabella has her 1st cavity.

When it was Sophia's turn to sit in the chair I put her on my lap.  Yet, she did not want to open her mouth for the dentist.  The dentist was able to take a quick peek and confirm Sophia's 16 pearly whites. The girls enjoyed the goody bags from the dentist with stickers, bubble gum floss and toothbrushes.  Plus they also received a balloon animal.  Pretty neat!

Although Sophia looked sad at the dentist she perked up soon after.  Little Miss FiFi loves to play dress up, especially with Isabella's underwear.  She also loves to put on chapstick probably since Isabella loves to put on gloss.  They even do great with out a mirror.  Good job girls.

Sunny Days

The girls love to play outside. Last week we enjoyed a trip to a park with the Timmermans.

 We also had a fun trip to the Gates' pool.  It looks like our kids are forming a swim team with the matching suits.  The only way I could get them to look at the camera was to say "do you like lollipops?".  Those faces sure don't look like it, huh.

Daddys Girls

This year the girls had their photos taken for Fathers day.  The photo session went really well and the photographer was able to make the girls giggle.  Isabella & Sophia had a blast posing for the camera and playing with the props.  Here are samples of photos from our session...

Fathers day was a nice relaxing day spent with family.  Hope everyone had a great fathers day as well.

 This past weekend we enjoyed spending time with my sister Megan and also my friend Sarah.   The girls enjoyed having guests in our home.  Sophia loved to smile when Aunt Megan said "cheese".  Sophia also knows a few new words: Dora (thanks to her big sister), apple, bite, walk, open, down, off, on and again.  As you can tell she also likes fudgesickles.  While Megan was in town we spent lots of time playing in the backyard and also ventured out to a girls lunch! It was good "sister time" for all.

 On Sunday Sarah came to visit and it was wonderful to see her. Sarah moved to France right before Sophia was born so it was a treat to have her meet Sophia and see how much the girls have grown.

Fun in the Sun

We are enjoying summer by playing in the backyard a lot.  The girls enjoy their baby pools and Isabella loves that her pool is pink.  Last weekend we were invited to our friends pool.  One the way to the pool Isabella and I had the following conversation:

Isabella: What color is Madelyn's pool? Is it pink like mine?

Me:  I think its white.

Isabella:  Did Madelyn's Mommy buy her pool?

Me: No, its in her neighborhood.

Isabella: Did Madelyn's Daddy buy the pool?

Me: No, Isabella its a big pool near her house.

Isabella:  Does it fit in her Daddy's car like mine?

Me: No its too big to fit in a car. 

I think its cute that Isabella loves her little plastic pool and the fact that her Daddy got it for her. Three year old kids say the funniest things.

Whee!

Although we do not belong to a community pool we are very thankful to have great friends to invite us out for fun in the sun!

Water Water Everywhere

We had a fun yet relaxing Memorial weekend at home.  Meredith & Sean came down to visit and we celebrated Sean's (belated) birthday.  Isabella and Sophia LOVED their dog Echo.  The dog was so sweet playing with the girls.  Isabella liked to run around with Echo and Sophia liked to snuggle with Echo.  The girls were sad to seem them go.

  

Memorial weekend was HOT!  The girls enjoyed playing in the water every day.  We set up the water table, water guns, water balloons, a sprinkler and 2 baby pools!   It was the perfect recipe to keep cool.  It was nice having Will off of work for a few days.   The girls love spending time with their daddy!
