Happy Birthday Will

Saturday we had Sarah & Thomas over for dinner to celebrate Will's birthday. It was nice to be able to have a special dinner and a homemade cake. Much different than Will's birthday last year. A year ago on Will's birthday I was recovering from a c-section while caring for Isabella who was only 10 days old. I wanted to make a cake but could not keep my eyes open in the kitchen (surprise surprise I had not had much sleep in days). Thus, this year I was pleased as punch that I could make a homemade vanilla cake with chocolate butter cream icing which is Will's favorite.

Isabella is still feeling sick. Breaks my heart to see her feeling so bad.

We had lots of books, naps and snuggle time this weekend.

Today I am home caring for a upset, weepy eyed, runny nose baby with Strep throat. Poor baby. I hope she starts to feel better soon.

The party was a blast and it was very nice to see everyone. Isabella enjoyed her cake and all the wonderful gifts. Thank you to our family and friends for making this a wonderful occasion.

Isabella had so much fun eating her cupcake. She was so excited and full of sugar that she was dancing in her high chair. Our little daughter is one!!! Stay tuned for pics from the party.

The day my prayers were answered...

One year~wow. The past year has been amazing to say the least. Isabella has filled our hearts with such joy. It was not too long ago that she was in my belly and we were dreaming of her being born. She was born via c-section at 5:23pm on 2/13/08. We were induced the previous day but made little progress. Isabella developed a very high heart rate and I was getting a fever so we were rushed into the OR to welcome Isabella to the world. I remember that 1st cry she let out. It was the most beautiful sound that I had waited my entire life to hear. We were the proud parents to a healthy 7lb 11oz baby girl. 12 months later the bottles, booties and bassinet is packed away. She is cruising along, crawling up the stairs, saying Dada, Momma, & Hi, waving bye-bye, loves to "read" books, has 8 teeth, and rides in a big girl car seat. Her personality lights up the room and we would not want to imagine our lives without her. She is our dream come true.

Easy like a Sunday Morning

Today felt like spring was here! Its was a nice sunny day with temps in the mid 70's. We spent the morning doing some errands around the house to get ready for Isabella's birthday party next weekend. Isabella helped me with measuring out ingredients for blueberry muffins...which she loves!

Raking in the fun!

Today was beautiful outside so we took advantage of the nice weather to rake up a ton of leaves. We are amazed at how many leaves are in our yard and there is still one tree with some leaves to drop. Oh my. Isabella is feeling a bit under the weather so to speak but fresh air is exactly what she needed. All in a days work

Flipping though books is her favorite activity these days.
